SAN DIEGO STRIKE FORCE and FRONT WAVE ARENA

While at San Diego State University, I built a strong relationship with Geno Gerbo, General Manager of the San Diego Strike Force and the Strike Force Cares Foundation. That connection gave me the chance to bring together my passions for sustainability, sports, accessibility, and community advocacy in a real, meaningful way.

Working with the Strike Force let me share feedback from the perspective of someone living with a disability, helping improve accessibility for fans and community members. I became part of the organization both on and off the field — building relationships with players, contributing ideas, and attending every home game. The experience reinforced something I strongly believe: accessibility isn’t just about compliance — it’s about making people feel included, respected, and able to fully participate.

During that time, I also started speaking more openly about accessibility challenges at sports and entertainment venues across San Diego County. Alongside Geno Gerbo, I helped present accessibility recommendations and implementing design and strategy for the new Oceanside Wave Front Front Arena, sharing ideas for ADA-friendly design features that could create a better experience for every guest.
